After a recent appointment in Vienna, Virginia I went looking for a quick healthy afternoon meal. My favorite Sushi spot was closed, but right next door was a Thai restaurant that from the outside didn’t look like much. Thai Treasure is situated in a small strip mall along Maple Avenue. It was late in the day, and I was out of time, and out of healthy options so I thought why not give it a try. Surprise, surprise not only was the staff friendly and welcoming, but the food was very tasty, and the service was fast. There was one full table up front, and then just me. The minute I sat down in the corner booth and looked around I felt joy. Yes, joy. Thai Treasure has a great personality. The walls convey the spirit of the place in a playful and heartfelt way. Black typography and bold graphics speak to diners about the brand’s particular point-of-view about how to eat. There are touches throughout the space that convey caring. Even the restroom amplifies the personality and messaging. It’s amazing what design and communications can do to create an engaging in person experience. Give your business a distinctive voice and you’ll go a long way towards creating a stand out brand.
